KUHF Conversations: Harris Co. Judge Ed Emmett On Hurricane Season Preparedness

Every year when hurricane season rolls around on June 1st, we hear the same thing — make a plan and be prepared. We all know about how we should stock up on food, water, medication, ice, and — after the harsh lessons of Hurricane Ike in 2008 — find a way to get backup power, in case you're one of the unlucky ones who goes for up to two weeks without electricity.
