Reliant Pres. Jason Few To Chair New Houston Energy Trade Event

Total Energy USA, a new annual Houston trade event, is naming Reliant Energy president Jason Few as its executive committee chairman.

Few’s new post makes him the lead spokesman for the conference and expo, which aims to reinforce Houston’s position as the energy capital of the world. Vincent Polito is Total Energy USA’s president.

“Our event really looks at all energy solutions — not just the renewable side but also traditional fuels — and we were looking for a chairman that wasn’t clearly aligned with any particular mode of energy. And that’s why we think Reliant, NRG, and Jason Few in particular was a great choice.”

Few has already begun his first major task as chairman. He’s reaching out to leaders from different energy sectors to serve on the board and help steer the inaugural event.

The first Total Energy USA is scheduled to take place at the George R. Brown Convention Center October 16-October 18, 2012. Organizers will soon issue calls for speakers in the conference and open sales of space on the exhibit floor.
