KUHF Conversations: NPR’s Steve Inskeep

NPR "Morning Edition" co-host Steve Inskeep writes in his new book that we are living in the age of the "instant city," when new megacities can emerge practically overnight, creating a host of issues from where to put everyone to how to keep the peace among disparate groups. His first book, "Instant City: Life and Death in Karachi", chronicles how Pakistan's largest city showcases the risks and opportunities experienced in developing cities all over the world. Here, Inskeep talks with local "Morning Edition" host David Pitman about what inspired him to write this book, and he draws some comparisons between the growth in Houston and Karachi.
