Voter Registration Deadline Approaches

There are just two weeks left to register to vote for the November elections. If you want to vote in Harris County – you need to make sure your registration is current.

The November election may seem like a long way off, but the deadline to register to vote is October 11th.

Harris County Voter Registrar Don Sumners says if you’ve recently moved into the area, changed addresses within Harris County or changed your name, you need to update your registration and make sure it’s current.

“They can call 713-368-VOTE. Or they can check our webpage at”

There are a number of issues on the ballot this year. City of Houston residents will vote on the mayor’s race and several city council elections. There are also ten state constitutional amendments on the ballot and elections for HISD trustees.

“Get out and vote. Elections have consequences.”

Election Day is November 8th.

In addition to City of Houston elections, the cities of Bellaire and Baytown also have elections, along with several independent school districts.
