New George Bush Fire Starts And So Do The Questions

A local man has been arrested in possible connection with the latest fire late last night at George Bush Park on Houston's far west side.

The fire was reported at around midnight near where the original fire had started days before.

Fire investigators say it was a separate blaze just north of the bigger fire and burned about 27 acres early today. 29-year-old Lonnie Ray Henderson has been arrested and charged with impersonating a public servant. He was spotted leaving the scene of the most recent fire.

Henderson is being questioned by arson investigators today.

The original fire burned about 1500 acres at the park, near Westheimer and Highway 6, south of the Katy Freeway. It took several days to put out that fire.

About 50 firefighters were able to stop the latest fire in a matter of a few hours.
