It was forty years ago today… the Beatles stopped in Houston for two concerts during their 1965 tour. It was a special moment for one Houstonian who is now an elementary school principal.

The Beatles played two concerts at the old Sam Houston Coliseum, where the Hobby Center now resides, and Osborne Elementary School Principal Jacqueline Parnell was lucky enough to win not only tickets, but admission to a press conference held before the shows. Parnell heard and saw more of the group at their press conference than at the actual concert. Parnell is still a Beatles fan.
