Prima Volta is a local organization made up of classical singers, mostly graduates from the University of Houston. Every year they put on a special concert at St. Arnold Brewery called Brindisi! Brindisi is the Italian word for “drinking song,” and the concert is fittingly full of drinking songs from opera and musical theater.

For this year’s concert, they also included the theme of love in the mix, for which Houston Matters producer Joshua Zinn actually contributed a piece where the text comes from an OkCupid message that the organization’s founding director received.

Following the concert, Joshua spoke with attendees and some of the performers about the experience.
