When it opened in 1871, Houston’s Glenwood Cemetery was sited on the edge of town. But even as the city grew around it, the cemetery has retained its sense of peacefulness and isolation.

And as TV 8’s Arts Insight discovered, Glenwood also serves as a gallery of historical tastes in cemetery monuments, sculpture and tombstones.

This video profile was produced for the program Arts InSight and will air on Thursday September 4th at 7pm on TV 8.

Arts InSight profiles artists in Houston and around the country, every Thursday night on Houston Public Media.
