Dance Salad Festival 2014

Go behind the scenes of Houston’s one-of-a-kind international dance festival.

Acclaimed dance companies and choreographers from Paris, London, Beijing, Copenhagen, Oslo, Madrid and Weisbaden will be represented at this year’s Dance Salad, now in its 19th season in Houston. Founded in Brussels a few years earlier, the international festival features three uniquely-curated evenings of dance – with 8 U.S. premieres this time – on April 17, 18 and 19 at 7:30pm at the Wortham Center’s Cullen Theater.  Houston Public Media’s Catherine Lu spoke with Dance Salad Founder and Artistic Director, Nancy Henderek, about her jet-setting method of putting the program together, plus highlights of this year’s Festival.
