Houston Symphony Centennial Concert 8:30pm tonight (6/21)!

Join Bob Stevenson at 8:30 tonight (6/21/13) for a very special live broadcast of  the Houston Symphony’s 100th Birthday Concert from Miller Outdoor Theatre!

Celebrate the kickoff of the Houston Symphony’s centennial season at Miller Outdoor Theatre with Classical 91.7’s Bob Stevenson. The Symphony, chorus, American Idol Finalist Lakisha Jones, a marching band, dancers and other special guests will all participate in a concert of orchestral blockbusters. And, there will be fireworks!

Featured music will include Beethoven’s Ode to Joy, selections from Tchaikovsky’s The Nutcracker, and John Williams’ Liberty Fanfare. Plus, there will be music from The Planets–An HD Odyssey, paired with images of NASA’s exploration of the solar system projected on a giant screen.

That’s tonight, Friday, June 21st at 8:30, right here on Classical 91.7.
