KUHF’s St. John Flynn chats with soprano Amanda Roocroft, who is making her Houston Grand Opera debut as The Governess in the company’s new production of Benjamin Britten’s The Turn of the Screw … and with Neil Armfield, who has staged the opera for HGO. There are three remaining performances in the Brown Theater of downtown Houston’s Wortham Center: this Saturday, and next Wednesday and Saturday.  Listen Download

Guitarist Eric Avinger and pianist Michael Zuraw, the Artistic Director of the Aperio: Music of the Americas series, are joined on stage by cellist Daniel Saenz and Bayou City favorite, singer Norma Zenteno … for Sin Fronteras — Without Frontiers — A Celebration of Mexican Folk, Popular and Chamber Music. The concert is Friday evening at 7:30PM at Houston’s Covenant Church on Caroline Street near Hermann Park. Tickets will be available at the door.  Listen Download
