, Director of Choral Ensembles at the Shepherd School of Music, conducts the Rice Chorale, Shepherd School alumnus, organist Joseph Causby, graduate-student harpist, Sadie Turner and the Chancel Handbell Ensemble of Chapelwood United Methodist Church in Rice University’s official holiday concert, A Christmas Chorale. There are two performances tonight and tomorrow evening at 8:00PM in the Shepherd School’s Edythe Bates Old Organ Recital Hall. Admission is free, and the limited seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis. Jaber shares some of his thoughts, as well as some of the music to be heard on his concert, with KUHF’s St. John Flynn. At the Houston Center for Contemporary Craft, KUHF’s Catherine Lu speaks with nationally-recognized textile artist, Tim Harding, the juror for the Texas Federation of Fiber Artists’ invitational exhibition, Celebrating Our Creative Spirit. That show of ninety fiber and textile pieces created by crafts-people who live and work in the Lone Star State is on view through Christmas Eve at the HCCC.
