KUHF’s Chris Johnson speaks with Jonah Sirota, Shepherd School of Music graduate and violist with the Chiara String Quartet. Their conversation took place in Jonah’s Houston hotel room last April when the Chiaras were in town to participate in a Da Camera recital at the Menil Collection. The Chiara String Quartet’s current Beethoven In Bars Tour brings them back to the Bayou City for an early Halloween performance, tomorrow evening at 6:30PM at the alternative performance space, Avant Garden. Listen Download

The Indigo Trio — Houston pianist Zoya Shuhatovich, and her colleagues from the Saint Petersburg String Quartet: violinist Alla Aranovskaya and violist Boris Vayner, perform Piano Trios by Mendelssohn, Schumann and Shostakovich, in a free program to be presented Sunday afternoon at Four-Fifteen in the Recital Room at the Dowling Music retail store.
