Flutist Christina Jennings is joined in the Geary Performance Studio by composer Cater Pann to discuss Pann’s Flute Concerto which was comissioned and will recieve it’s world premiere performance by the River Oaks Chamber Orchestra this weekend…

Alecia Lawyer is the founder, Executive Director and Principal Oboist of Houston’s River Oaks Chamber Orchestra. ROCO presents the World Première performance of a work it commissioned, the Mercury Concerto for Flute and Chamber Orchestra, by University of Colorado faculty composer, Carter Pann … tomorrow evening at 6:00PM in the sanctuary of the Episcopal Church of Saint John the Divine. The soloist will be the artist for whom the Concerto was written, ROCO’s Principal Flutist, Christina Jennings … and the concert will be under the baton of our other guest, Maestro Alastair Willis, who also leads the Orchestra in Symphonies by Joseph Haydn and Dmitri Shostakovich. Willis, Jennings, Lawyer and Pann all gather in the Geary Performance Studio for a preview.
