We serve up folksongs and classical chamber music on today’s cultural menu! Houston folksinger Bobby Bridger pays tribute to American frontiersman, Pony Express rider & showman “Buffalo Bill.” And musicians from The Greenbriar Consortium perform a brand-new work by Cristian Macelaru and a relatively obscure treat by August Klughardt.

The Greenbriar Consortium presents Dynamic Duos & Terrific Trios, including works both new & old, on the Channing Concerts series at First Unitarian Universalist Church, tomorrow at 7:30pm.  In the studio to perform excerpts are distinguished Houston musicians Judy Dines (flute), Akiko Konishi (piano), Anne Leek (oboe), Cristian Macelaru (violin) & Dan Strba (viola).  Dean Dalton hosts.  Listen  Download

Folksinger-songwriter Bobby Bridger shares the life of William F. Cody, aka Buffalo Bill, in story & song!  Mr. Bridger is featured in the new documentary Buffalo Bill, which debuts nationwide tonight on the public television series, American Experience.  You can tune in to program this evening, 9pm, on Houston PBS, Channel 8 & HD 8.1.  Listen  Download
