Musicians from the Aperio: Chamber Music of the Americas chamber series share some of the “African American Spirituals, Popular Songs and Art Music” that they will present in honor of Black History Month. We also hear from Sandra Organ as she prepares to celebrate her 10th anniversary . . .

Mark Cudek is a member of the Baltimore Consort. That ensemble will present Cancionero! Romances, Villancicos and Improvisations of Spain, c.1500 this Saturday evening for Houston Early Music. He talks about the music with TFR Producer Bob Stevenson.  Listen  Download

Members of Aperio: Music of the Americas gather in the KUHF Performance Studio for session hosted by KUHF’s Afternoon Concert host Chris Johnson. They sample from the program Black and Blue: A Collection of African American Spirituals, Poular Songs and Art Music that will be presented this Sunday afternoon at the Sicardi Gallery, 2246 Richmond.   Listen  Download 

Choreographer Sandra Organ Solis talks with KUHF’s Catherine Lu about her upcoming retrospective program. It celebrates both Black History Month and her company’s 10th Anniversary. Performances are thsi weekend at the Barnevelder Movement/Arts Complex.  Listen  Download
