We’ll hear some of the music that Music Director Hans Graf, violinist Gil Shaham and the Symphony will perform on Saturday evening’s concert, A Carmen Fantasy, and then we’ll welcome to the show, Ferenc Illenyi, Hungarian-born member of the Symphony’s violin section, and Greg Harbar, founder and leader of the long-standing Houston ethnic-music band, The Gypsies. . .
The Gypsies will provide the eastern-European-flavored traditional dance tunes at the Gypsy Rendezvous party that will follow the Symphony’s Saturday night concert. . .
And, as if that weren’t enough, we’ll have a studio preview of this year’s Bayou City Concert Musicals’ production of a rarely-performed Broadway show. Fiorello, Jerry Bock and Sheldon Harnick’s Pulitzer- and Tony-Award-winning musical biography of early twentieth-century New York City mayor, Fiorello LaGuardia, plays this weekend only at Houston Community College’s Heinen Theatre.
Join us each weekday afternoon at 3:00 for an up-close look at the Houston area arts scene on The Front Row.
