For it’s annual production at the Wortham Center, the Gilbert and Sullivan Society of Houston, presents, not one, but TWO favorites: H.M.S. Pinafore and Trial by Jury. In addition, the Society this season celebrates the 25th anniversary of its association with stage director and star, Alistair Donkin. Mr. Donkin, Musical Director Clifton Evans and several members of the Pinafore cast stopped by Studio 3-C for a preview with KUHF’s Alison Young. Audio here.

For it’s 4th year in a row, the Houston Center for Contemporary Craft has invited craftspeople from all over Texas to enter the competition for its annual Craft Houston 2006 showcase. Over a hundred artists submitted more than 300 pieces, and 52 works by 29 craft-artists living in 11 different cities were selected for inclusion in this year’s Craft Houston show. The juror for the exhibition is art writer and historian, Suzanne Ramljak, current editor of Metalsmith magazine. She spoke with KUHF’s Alison Young. Audio here.
