  • Houston Public Media-News 88.7 is looking for its first Arts and Culture reporter. Our newsroom is growing again and we need a multi-platform journalist who can cover Houston’s vibrant arts and culture scene with an eye for news. Our city boasts a world-class symphony, ballet, opera and theater district, a robust museum district, an established community of artists and a quirky and growing local music scene. Our perfect candidate will find interesting, relevant, creative stories about the city’s arts and culture scene that are meaningful to a news audience.

Forbes Magazine recently named Houston one of America’s Coolest Cities, and there’s a reason why; it’s a great place to live. It’s affordable, has a growing, healthy economy and friendly people.

If you’re a multi-platform journalist looking for a new challenge, have an ear for a good story and have always wanted to cover arts and culture in a big city, please send us some examples of your recent work to applications@houstonpublicmedia.org. This is not a job for beginners. We’re looking for someone with 3-5 years of professional media experience. Familiarity with the public radio style is a plus. Be ready to show us how you’ll use the web, social media and other digital platforms to share your stories with an even bigger audience.
