EPL Moves To HQ To Houston

EPL Oil and Gas is relocating its corporate headquarters to Houston from New Orleans.

The independent exploration and production company already had a presence in Houston. It recently doubled its operations, in part by expanding its staff of geoscientists and engineers in its local office.

EPL president and CEO Gary Hanna says the firm is shifting its main office to 919 Milam in downtown Houston. That’s in part to take advantage of the city’s large talent pool. He says the company plans to continue hiring engineers and scientists, to support the growth of its operations in the Gulf of Mexico. Hanna says the move to Houston will also help EPL by providing it with more direct access to business partners and energy-focused banks.

The company recently reported revenue for the first quarter of 2013 of more than $180 million, nearly double that of the same period a year ago.
